Proceedings of the Iola Village Board of Trustees, Monday, January 9, 2017, 6:00 p.m.
President Pro-Tem David Harper called the regular monthly meeting of the Iola Village Board of Trustees to order at 6:00 p.m. at the community center. President Pro-Tem Harper made the open meeting statement that this meeting and all other meetings of this Board are open to the public. Proper notice has been posted and given to the press in accordance with Wisconsin Statutes so the citizenry may be made aware of the time, place and agenda of this meeting. Board members present; President Pro-Tem Harper, Trustees Anderson, Briquelet, Murphy, Parks and Rasmussen. President Edler was present via speakerphone. Others present; clerk Johnson, attorney Meagher, Lyle Mork, Officer Field and Jane Myhra. President Pro-Tem Harper led the Board in the pledge of allegiance.
Moved by Joel Edler, seconded by Jim Rasmussen to approve minutes of the last regular meeting of December 12 as written, motion carried.
Moved by Terry Murphy, seconded by Richard Anderson, for the board to accept the police monthly statistical report as prepared by Chief Prahl, motion carried.
Moved by Terry Murphy, seconded by Jim Rasmussen, for the board to approve application for operators license by Kimberely Eligott (Northern Light Bar & Grill), pending police check, motion carried.
The monthly bills were presented to the finance committee for approval. The finance committee examined the bills and recommended that they be allowed. Moved by Kathy Briquelet, seconded by Jim Rasmussen, that the recommendation of the finance committee be adopted and an order drawn on the treasury for the various amounts, motion carried.
Moved by Jim Rasmussen, seconded by Richard Anderson, for the village board to authorize the library board to sign a contract with an architect to get a plan for the proposed library addition, motion carried.
A resolution regarding the carryover of funds from the 2016 park budget to the 2017 park budget will be placed on the agenda of a future meeting for consideration. Chet’s office clock was donated to the Village of Iola and will be installed in the Village Board meeting room.
